SKGS brings together the forest products sector, the chemicals industry, the mining industry and the steel and metals sector. The following four trade organisations work collaboratively in SKGS to advance common goals.

  • Skogsindustrierna
  • IKEM – Innovation and Chemical Industries in Sweden
  • Svemin
  • Jernkontoret

SKGS works to tackle energy issues for Sweden’s base industries.

SKGS has a vital role to play in representing the interests of the base industries and advocating for policy decisions that deliver competitive conditions for these industries.

In this context, the electricity supply in Sweden must be stable and offer competitive electricity prices.

The political arena plays a major role by setting limits on what electricity production is possible in the country. Through taxation and the subsidy system, politics also affects both investments and production. SKGS actively contributes to the debate through submitting consultation responses, by being active in media channels and meeting politicians from parties with Riksdag representation to raise important topical issues.
