Steel Academy Network
The Steel Academy Network is a platform for exchange of experiences, dissemination of information and sharing knowledge that brings together the steel industry and the academic world.
The Network exists for those who, in their professional role, are active on the interface between the academic world and the steel industry, for example:
- Adjunct professors
- Industrial doctoral students
- Master’s thesis students
- Those in industry who also participate in reference groups and on boards at centres of higher education
The purpose of the network is to be a platform for sharing experience and best practice, as well as information and knowledge sharing between the higher education sector and the steel industry.
Jernkontoret is responsible for co-ordination of the network.

Background
The network was formed in 2020 on the initiative of Jernkontoret. A study showed that a need existed for Sweden’s adjunct professors with links to the steel industry to jointly discuss and pursue issues together. A forum was lacking for collaboration and the interchange of knowledge and best practice.
