Communications Council

The Council’s responsibility is to work on strategic communication issues.

Joint efforts to support the industry’s communication  

The Council includes directors of communication and communicators from both Jernkontoret’s co-owners and its stakeholders. The Council carries out joint activities at industry-wide events such as Ståldagen (Steel Day) and the Almedalen Week. Industry-wide issues such as employer branding and sustainability communications are discussed in the Council.

The Council is led by Jernkontoret’s Communications Director, Hanna Escobar-Jansson. It meets four times a year and, in connection with the meetings, arrangements are made for study visits and joint educational activities. To maximise accessibility for Council members these meetings also take place online.

The Communications Council

  • constitutes a link for information transfer from Jernkontoret to the companies
  • implements decisions of the governing board in the companies concerned
  • acts as sounding board in planning of industry-wide initiatives
  • collaborates with a view to visits by persons at the political and public authority level
  • shares journalist contacts
  • shares photographic material
  • discusses matters affecting the image of companies and the industry as a whole 
  • discusses sponsorship issues and the wider exposure of the steel industry 
  • is responsible for promoting the industry’s joint vision 2050
  • works on behalf of mutual dissemination of information
